Basement Release Farewell Statement

Run For Cover Records’ own Basement released a farewell statement to their fan base recently and UTG would like to share it with you all. The group played their final shows last week and became emotional over the amount of support they received. Read the message below and send your well-wishes in the comments section.

“Last weekend was incredibly special for us, it was the perfect way to say goodbye. We chose the Well and the Underworld because they have always been our favourite venues to play, so it really meant so much that people came out to see us. We would like to thank all the bands that played over the weekend, because not one band was chosen without reason. These bands were some of our closest friends and it really meant so much that people made the effort to travel to play these shows with us. Obviously, it goes without saying that special thanks go out to our best friends in Daylight. Last weekend would have been nothing without them and we are forever grateful that they flew over to share it with us.

A special thanks goes out to Ashley Rommelrath for filming the show in Leeds. This was an awesome surprise and we really appreciate it, so thank you. The final show in London was filmed by the Crashburn video team and will be out in some form early next year. The leftover merch from the weekend is now online through the Staunch web store, along with a link to a handful of record release vinyl.

Thank you so much to everyone for everything. We only ever did what we wanted whilst we were a band, and the fact that people got behind that means a lot. It’s nice to know we were on the same page.

Hopefully see you soon.

Alex, Andrew, Duncan, James & Ronan.”
