Thrice’s Riley Breckenridge Starts A Baseball-Themed Grindcore Band

If there can be a whole genre dedicated to video games, then why not America’s favorite pastime? Well that was probably the thought process of Thrice’s Riley Breckenridge when he started Puig Destroyer.

Breckenridge is joined by Mike Minnick (Curl Up & Die), Ian Miller and John Howel (Kowloon Walled City) for this band that’s piquing a lot of interest. The Ghost Is Clear Records will be releasing a 7” of the band’s self-titled EP. Fans and people just interested in what a baseball-themed grindcore band will sound like can expect that “fairly soon,” according to the band, but you can listen to “One Man, Five Tools” now.

You can read a little of what the band had to say below.

Please stay tuned for updates/tunes. The roughs I’ve heard are ridiculously awesome and fun and raw as all hell.

Kinda like Yasiel Puig.

We’re all very excited an hope that you are too.
