‘Glee’ Going On Hiatus Following Cory Monteith Tribute

The cast and fans of Glee have been mourning the death of star Cory Monteith for the past week, and this morning a story from the Associated Press has revealed the show’s plans to honor its fallen lead.

Glee Executive Producer Ryan Murphy announced in a statement to press on Saturday, July 20, that he is currently planning a tribute episode for Cory Monteith. The show will be the third in the series’ upcoming fifth season, following two which had already been written. Glee will then go on hiatus to reassess the direction of the series.

News of this decision follows an earlier decision from Fox to delay the season premiere one week to September 26.

31-year-old Monteith was found last weekend in a Vancouver, British Columbia, hotel room. Tests showed he died of an overdose of heroin and alcohol.
