Rumors continue to swirl about the fate of Fast & Furious 7, but for now we can confirm the film will not be released on July 11, 2014.

With their biggest competition in July now delayed, Fox announced yesterday that Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has changed its release from July 18 to July 11. The film, which is directed by Matt Reeves, stars Andy Serkis, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, and Keri Russell. The synopsis reads:

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

So far, no footage from Dawn has been released to the public. There was a brief clip shown during Comic Con, but even that was incomplete. Now that the film is back in headlines it’s likely we’ll hear about a trailer debut sometime in the near future. Super Bowl perhaps?

As for Fast 7, the only thing we can currently confirm is that production is delayed until further notice. The studio obviously has a large investment in the franchise, but having lost one of the film’s lead stars almost halfway through production it will be difficult to move forward. We will bring you more information once an official announcement is made.
