Sylvester Stallone stumbled onto a box office goldmine when he decided to recruit the best actors from the action genre of the last three decades and put them together in a film called The Expendables. The sequel, Expendables 2, boasted an even bigger cast with more well-known names (and explosions). 2014 will see the arrival of The Expendables 3, and earlier this week the first teaser found its way online.

Featuring a lengthy buildup to the full cast reveal, the first teaser for Expendables 3 offers absolutely no footage from the upcoming action epic. Stallone is seen walking through an empty hangar, that is, until the lights kick on and you discover he’s joined by over a dozen notable names. You can view the clip at the end of this post.

The Expendables 3 has been given an August 15 release date. The film features returning cast members Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, as well as new recruits Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Victor Ortiz, and Glen Powell. Expect more footage in the months ahead.
