Los Angeles indie rock quartet Warpaint don’t mind taking their time. The band’s debut album, The Fool, was released in 2010, a full six years after their formation, and now, three and a half years later, they’re back with an impressive new record that more than justifies the long wait.
The self-titled effort walks the line between organic and electronic, with atmospheric synthesizers setting the stage for infectious drum and bass grooves and ethereal vocal melodies. The album isn’t officially out until next week, but you can stream it right now over at NPR and preorder a copy from Rough Trade Records.
Warpaint will be touring the world this spring in support of the album, hitting Europe, Australia, Japan, and more before playing a short run of US shows at the end of March. They will also be appearing at this year’s Coachella festival. Check out the full list of tour dates after the break.
