The First Trailer For ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’ Has Arrived

Stop whatever you’re doing right now and pay full attention to the video at the end of this post. Years may have passed since the world was given its first taste of Sin City, but later this year Robert Rodriguez and a dozen or so celebrities are taking us back for another round of violence and romance with, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.

Pulling together the events of both A Dame To Kill For and Just Another Saturday Night graphic novels, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For brings back characters you’ve never forgotten while introducing a slew of new ones (all played by notable faces). Front and center is Ray Liotta, who looks like freaking badass. You can view the film’s first official trailer below.

The official synopsis for Sin City: A Dame To Kill For reads:

In Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Dwight is hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord, and then watches his life go straight to hell. Chronologically, this story takes place prior to “The Big Fat Kill” (featured in the film Frank Miller’s Sin City) and explains how Dwight came to have a dramatically different face.

The look of Sin City: A Dame To Kill For falls in line with the style of the original, only this time everything looks a bit more clean (thanks no doubt to advancements in digital filmmaking technology). Whether or not that turns some fans away is anyone’s guess at this time, but I, for one, am entirely on board.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For opens nationwide August 22. Josh Brolin, Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Michael Madsen, Rosario Dawson, Jamie King, Ray Liotta, Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Dennis Haysbert, Julia Garner, and Juno Temple round out the cast.
