Manchester Orchestra, Minus The Bear Debut Two Tracks To Accompany Forthcoming Photo Book

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re probably already well aware that, earlier this week, Manchester Orchestra released what is arguably the best record of 2014 so far. Cope is already being hailed as the group’s most solid effort to date, but if you still had any doubt as to the Birmingham outfit’s ability, then I highly suggest you check out “Sure Shot,” a previously unreleased track that found its way online this morning. Give it a listen by heading over to Fuse.

Additionally, this newest offering debuted alongside an equally enjoyable Minus The Bear B-side called “Surf-n-Turf,” which only saw the light of day across the pond back in 2012. It can also be located by following the above link.

Both tracks are taken from a 7” which will be released alongside photographer Ryan Russell’s debut photo book, Continental Obscura: From Birmingham To Bellingham. The shutterbug’s freshman attempt will document his move from Alabama to Washington, and is slated for an April 8 release via No Sleep Records.

“When creating the book, I wanted to involve music somehow and thought it would be good to have a 7” included,” said Russell. “Having one band from the South where I was leaving and one from the Pacific Northwest where I was heading seemed like the best way to tie it all together with the book’s content.”

If Continental Obscura: From Birmingham to Bellingham sounds too good to pass up, you can pick up a copy here.
