Geoff Rickly’s Collect Records To Release Music From Former Lostprophets Members

Since the horrific crimes of former Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins came to light last year, the musical careers of other five band members have been up in the air. One of the more intriguing rumors that has been circulating is that former Thursday vocalist Geoff Rickly would be fronting their new project. Rickly addressed this rumor in a recent interview, which you can listen to after the break. While he will not be singing for the band, his label, Collect Records, will be releasing their music.

Rickly had this to say about the group:

I’ve heard that rumor, too. But it’s been my honor to work with them on their new band from, like, a label perspective. People are not gonna know what hit them when the new stuff comes out. It’s like everything I grew up on—a little bit of New Order, a little bit of Joy Division, a little bit of the Cure—it’s just so forward thinking.

Elsewhere in the interview, Rickly offers some new details on Thursday’s breakup and potential for a reunion (spoiler alert: It’s probably not happening), as well as his current stint on the UK edition of the Acoustic Basement Tour. There are a couple dates left on the tour, so if you’re in the area, you still have a chance to hear some solo interpretations of Thursday classics, as well as Rickly’s own music, which can be downloaded for free on Bandcamp.
