Justin Bieber Allegedly Steals Paramore Fan Artwork; Hayley Williams Responds

Justin Bieber has this habit of releasing “surprise” singles for fans, and more often than not those songs are available to be downloaded for free. Bieber’s latest song though is raising some serious questions, and not because of its content. The artwork for the song has some fans believing he “copied” the style of Paramore‘s artwork for Riot!, but now it seems the artwork itself was lifted from a fan of Paramore.

Property of Zack and Absolutepunk first pointed out that the artwork was incredibly similar to Riot!. Our very own Jacob Tender has pointed out that the exact artwork can be found on a Tumblr owned by a fan of Paramore. The post is from 2011. You can compare the two below the jump.

We Were Born For This

Hayley Williams has taken to Tumblr to post a very funny response to the “controversy.” You can read the original post here, and a screenshot of the post right below.

If you’re interested, you can also give Bieber’s new song a listen. You know, in case there’s something stolen in there too.

Uhh what the heck. That is clearly stolen from Paramore and the picture shouldn’t be compared to the Riot! album cover just because it’s handwritten. That art was probably from Born For This (their song). Bieber really needs to stop and be original.

The artwork was created by a fan in 2011 and I do believe it was inspired by their song “Born For This.” I believe the band had a generator once that you could write things ‘Riot!’ font style but I could be wrong about that.

How can the artwork have been created by a fan in 2011 for an album that was released with that cover in 2007…?
