Rome (of Sublime) Announces Solo Album, Streams Lead Single

Rome rose to fame when he became the Sublime frontman longtime fans of the group were willing to tolerate. Now that he has established his voice in the music business, Rome is stepping out on his own with a new solo record titled Get Free, and earlier today we received the album’s first single.

Knowing that Rome spends the majority of his time with Sublime you may think his solo material would sound similar, but aside from a few hints of so-cal punk ethos Rome’s first foray into solo material is a departure from his usual material. “If The Word” moves quick, with pulsing percussion guiding the way as Rome’s vocals croon about what the world would be like if it were as beautiful as the woman he loves, then explodes into a grand chorus that is sure to be stuck in your head for weeks. It’s like what you imagine would happen if Neon Trees had a musical love child with Bruno Mars after a crazy night of experimenting with a powerful sativa. You can stream the single below.

Get Free is scheduled for release on August 12 via Fueled By Ramen. Pre-orders are not yet available, but you can rest assured we will bring you more details regarding the album and it’s release as soon as additional information becomes available.
