Watch PUP Cover the Buzzcocks

Pup interview 2014

Punk manages to revitalize itself every few years just enough for bands to claim it isn’t dead but for modern dads to say it’s not the same. Today we find ourselves right in the meat of that argument as Side One Dummy punk group PUP head over to the AV Club to cover one of the 1970s’ most important punk bands, the Buzzcocks.

Watch as the Canadian quartet do a solid job of channeling that punk spirit as their guitars snarl during the cover. They don’t get too fancy, which ultimately is the right move. Instead, they cover the classic “Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve)” as if they were there in ’78. Right on. Make sure you watch until the end, too, because there’s a little tribute to Rush that will have you chuckle.
