Slipknot Release Cryptic Video Teaser

Slipknot have never been the kind of band to do things the easy way, and even though rumors have been circling for months that a new album is on the way the metal icons from Iowa are not making it easy for fans to know just what it is they have planned for the future.

On Tuesday, a cryptic video began appearing online through Slipknot’s various social media accounts. The clip featured a compilation of haunting imagery along with the kind of horror movie sound effects that have become commonplace on the band’s albums. There was no text or audible message in the clip, nor did the video have a title or description, but fans and sites alike immediately began to assume a new album announcement would soon follow. We decided to wait another day and see what developed, but at this point the band is remaining quiet. You can view the shorter Instagram version of the video below, or the longer, more disturbing version on the homepage of their website.

My guess is that Slipknot have plans to release a few more of these clips before finally making their big album announcement. It’s also possible this clip is offering a glimpse of the band’s next music video, but at this time the imagery included is too jumbled to piece together in any kind of meaningful way. We will continue to follow this story as it develops and bring you updates along the way. Follow UTG on Twitter to ensure you never miss another headline.

From what I could tell, there’s a girl blindfolded in red, reference to Eyeless. Goats everywhere. Reference to the Iowa album. Theres a white goat on her right side and a black, fucked up looking goat on her left. Religious references. Looks like shes petting a dead goat at some point. Reference to the song Iowa. (which is about playing with dead things). That’s all I got so far.
