Mega Bog Announce Debut Album ‘Gone Banana,’ Stream “Year of Patience”

After 5 years of self-released material and re-writing songs, Mega Bog are finally ready to share their debut album. Titled Gone Banana, the album drops September 23 via Couple Skate and showcases the group’s lo-fi jazz rock sound. Finally, a band you and your dad can agree on.

With Kevin Ayers and Steely Dan influences, the band have traces of psychedelia and mall jazz in their songs while keeping the songwriting core tender. Lead single “Year of Patience” introduces the band nicely with a strutting saxophone line and Erin Birgy’s coy vocals, taking on the sounds of Ariel Pink, Prefab Sprout, and Laura Stevenson. It’s Seattle showcasing its experimental pop, and we’re more than ready to take a seat and watch it all unfold. Give the single a listen yourself after the jump and check out the album’s tracklist below.
