Hot damn. Chicago’s latest and greatest young hip hop export, Taylor Bennett, returns to our front page this afternoon with the premiere of a new single that is sure to entertain.
“Hatin” is the first song to surface from Bennett since the May release of his Mainstream Music mixtape. The track, which was produced by Pharaoh El, finds Taylor riding driving production with talk of his life, his hustle, and the people who try to hold him back. The theme of the song is ‘haters never make it,’ which is also a phrase that is repeated heavily throughout the track, and by the time you finish your first spin you’ll be shouting that line out of every open window you pass. Bennett has created an anthem with this joint, and you’ll want to leave it on repeat for hours. You can stream and download the track, for free, below:
When we first wrote about Bennett in the fall of 2013 it was largely due to the fact he is the younger sibling of Chance The Rapper. Since that time, Bennett has grown in ways we never imagined and emerged as a groundbreaking talent in his own right. He’s not living in anyone’s shadow, even though the world at large is still not giving him the attention he deserves. As long as he continues to release fire like this the crowds will continue to grow.
Stay grinding, Taylor. We believe in you.
