Chiodos Lose Two Members, Recruit Replacements From RX Bandits, The Mars Volta

Recently, Michigan post-hardcore heavyweights, Chiodos, have undergone an unexpected lineup change as they prepare to embark on this fall’s ‘Parks and Devastation Tour’ with A Day To Remember and Bring Me The Horizon. If you recall, the band recently brought on guitarist extraordinaire, Thomas Erak, former frontman for The Fall of Troy, before recording Chiodos’ most recent album, Devil. Now it seems original bassist, Matt Goddard, and longtime drummer Derrick Frost (for the second time), have decided to part ways with the band in order to spend time with loved ones and pursue interests back home.

While this is certainly a shock to Chiodos fans everywhere, the band has brought in some well-known talent to fill the vacancies, including legendary drummer Thomas Pridgen, formerly of The Mars Volta and The Memorials, as well as longtime RX Bandits bassist, Joe Troy. The band made it clear via Facebook that the new additions to the band would not only be joining Chiodos for the upcoming tour, but also to write and record future material.

You can check out Chiodos’ new lineup on ‘The Parks & Devastation Tour’ which kicks off in Pittsburgh on September 4. A full list of dates with ticket information can be found here.
