The title says it all. All in one short day, we were teased with a cryptic message from Modest Mouse on Instagram and even an official announcement from the band regarding new music, as they announced their highly anticipated full-length, Strangers to Ourselves
Well, this morning, we were gifted a new track from the album, called “Lampshades on Fire.”
As someone who had little to no expectations for new Modest Mouse music, I stand still on the fence with the new track. It’s awful, as it contains many characteristics that one would be familiar with when it comes to this band; the rambling on and on of lead singer Issac Brock, all the while he makes his hopeless lyrics sound fun and appealing to the masses.
Check it out here via The Current, and let us know what you think in the comments.
Strangers to Ourselves will be released on March 3. Stay tuned for any updates regarding Modest Mouse.
