Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos Performs “Sleepyhead” Acoustic in His Bed

Passion Pit have been silent throughout 2014, likely at work on a new album, but today we get to see frontman Michael Angelakos singing once again. The band’s creator took to YouTube today to share an intimate acoustic rendition of their hit song “Sleepyhead” — from his very own bed.

The Manners cut gets such a stylish reveal thanks to MyMusicRx’s Bedstock event, a mission to make the world’s first ongoing music festival where artists use their bedrooms as makeshift venues. The new online festival hopes to deliver “the healing power of music” to kids and teens while raising awareness of MyMusicRx, a Children’s Cancer Association program, with help from acts like Foster the People, Shakey Graves, and Sara Watkins.

While Angelakos’ singing is on point and true to their live sound, the acoustic version is a little too quiet. So turn your volume up, get cozy in your sheets, and watch the “Sleepyhead” performance below. If you’re looking for something more synth-pumping, grab a ticket to Louisiana’s Buku Music + Art Project. Passion Pit will be performing there as their first concert of 2015.
