Remember when Godspeed You! Black Emperor dropped their first new album in a decade back in 2012 out of nowhere, totally unannounced? The influential post-rock giants may very well be at it again.

As pointed out on 4Chan‘s well-kept music boards, Godspeed You! Black Emperor will be dropping a new LP titled Asunder, Sweet and Other Distress on March 31. Danish record store Route66 posted their upcoming releases to Facebook (image below). Sandwiched between Wu-Tang Clan and Madonna is a brand new Godspeed album. When someone asked about the record in the comments, the store said it’s a “surprise release” from the band. Meaning, no, Godspeed’s name appearing there wasn’t an accident.

For those ready to roll their eyes at 4Chan, hold up. Everything checks out on the record store’s Facebook page. Presumably, they have no reason to lie. Considering the band’s disapproval of press and tendency to drop albums out of nowhere, this could all be very real. Until then, we will wait with baited breath and watch their website closely.
