Arms & Sleepers Release ‘Instrumentals’

I’ve gushed about Boston’s Arms & Sleepers a lot over the years. Their music means a lot to me and that’ll never change. So in return, the least I can do is spread the word on any and everything they do.

Their most recent undertaking, following 2014’s fantastic Swim Team, includes an 8-track release of instrumental songs. These are instrumental versions of previously-released songs that originally featured vocals in some capacity – somewhat of a rarity within the A&S catalogue as a whole. With cuts from Black Paris ’86 (2007), Matador (2009), and The Organ Hearts (2011), Instrumentals takes some of my favorite Arms & Sleepers efforts, strips them of vocals, and leaves us with versions that are still completely gorgeous, and possibly even more ethereal and hypnotic.

You can stream the new versions below and purchase the release along with their myriad other efforts via Bandcamp. Buy it all – you won’t regret it.
