Detroit native Ben Carson threw his name in the pot yesterday amongst many others in running for the next President of the United States.
Unlike Hilary Clinton, who announced via Twitter, or Ted Cruz…who probably did something insane, Carson tapped a gospel choir to cover Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” during his kick-off party.
Another too-little-too-late approach from the GOP to reach people who are under 40 and make under 50 grand a year? Probably. At least he’s attempting to tap into the youth at the beginning, and not haphazardly as he sprints toward the finish of the Iowa Caucus.
Carson, the first black Presidential candidate for the GOP in this election, showed homage to his hometown by having the choir cover Eminem. It’d be perfectly alright to throw some Jack White and Bob Seger in the mix next time, too. Follow the jump to see a video of the performance.
