UTG PREMIERE: Post Modern – “July”

Today, we’re excited to bring you a new song from the Columbus, Ohio ambient rock band, Post Modern. You can listen to “July” off the band’s upcoming EP, The Current, below.

After listening to “July,” you’ll likely understand why it’s difficult to pin this band down genre-wise. The atmospheric guitar tones and spacey vocal effects are reminiscent of PVRIS or The 1975’s early EP work, while the driving rhythm section calls to mind some of Circa Survive’s slower tracks. The song is wrapped up nicely with a catchy vocal melody that adds the perfect dash of pop sensibility into the mix.

The Current, which was produced by Mike Kalajian and Greg Dunn of Rogue Planet Mastering, is due out on August 25. The band will be touring in support of the EP this fall; we’ll have dates for you in the coming weeks.
