UTG PREMIERE: Summer Wars – ‘Acoustic EP’

Summer Wars

Today, UTG is proud to be premiering Summer Wars‘ moving new Acoustic EP a full five days ahead of its official March 11 release. The Raleigh outfit’s newest offering follows their excellent four-track debut, Better Days, which was released last fall and has yet to wear out its welcome. Listen in after the break.

“Doing this acoustic EP was our chance to strip down the songs off our previous EP, Better Days,” vocalist Tripp Rowe told UTG via email. “This time around we had to think outside the box and not rely on certain production techniques that we used on the full band versions. It can be scary trying to break down a song to its most basic form and have it stand on its own with just a guitar and vocals, but I think it resulted in a super organic sound that we’re really proud of.”

If you’re about the band’s latest, there’s still time to pick up a pre-order before it drops this Friday. Additionally, if you’ll be in the Lone Star State next week, definitely make a point to catch Summer Wars at So What?! Music Festival, where they will take the stage alongside New Found Glory, Underoath, and a slew of other notable names.
