UTG PREMIERE: The Go Ahead – “Closer” (Nine Inch Nails Cover)

While in the pursuit of dominating the alternative rock world with the 2016 re-release of their debut EP, Cycles, San Francisco’s The Go Ahead have added a cover to their arsenal.

UTG was fortunate enough to partner with the group to share a performance video of their take on Nine Inch Nails’ 1994 smash hit, “Closer.” Follow the jump for an exclusive stream following a statement from the band’s drummer, Chris Kelly.

The cover that we did of Nine Inch Nails’ famous song, ‘Closer,’ was a blast to record and a personal favorite of mine to perform at shows.

I have to admit, I was never a big fan of Nine Inch Nails so this song was a bit hard for me to get behind; I wasn’t very excited when the idea was first brought to the table. However, after working through it with the whole band and beginning to perform it live, it quickly became one of my favorite songs to perform and I have since found a new appreciation for the song and Nine Inch Nails as well.
