The first look at 2017’s live action ‘Beauty and the Beast’ is here

Earlier this year, Disney dipped into its acclaimed vault of animated movies and came up with the charming and gorgeous live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book. Today we got our first look at the next live-action remake of a Disney classic in the teaser for Beauty and the Beast.

Operating under the assumption that pretty much everyone interested in this has already seen the 1991 animated original, there’s not much in the way of plot in this teaser, which you can watch below. We get a lot of very pretty time lapses of the Beast’s (Dan Stevens) castle falling into disrepair, a piano plunking out the instantly recognizable song that gives the movie its name, and our first listen to the voice of Ewan McGregor’s Lumiere. Most importantly, we get our first look at Emma Watson as Belle along with the Enchanted Rose.

Beauty and the Beast, which will land in theaters March 17, 2017, has a phenomenal cast, with Luke Evans, Emma Thompson, Ian McKellen, and Stanley Tucci among those joining Watson, McGregor, and Stevens.

Will you be seeing Disney’s next foray into live-action adaptations? Sound off in the comments.
