“I called in sick from your funeral. The sight of your body made me feel uncomfortable,” sings Christian Holden on “Your Deep Rest,” the latest single from Massachusetts punk band The Hotelier. The track will appear on their sophomore full-length, Home, Like No Place Is There, out February 18 on Tiny Engines.
“Your Deep Rest” has all of the stark honesty and raw, no-frills sound that made their 2011 debut album, It Never Goes Out (released under the name The Hotel Year) so great, and fans of literate punk bands like The Weakerthans and Piebald would do well to give the song a listen. Check it out over at AV Club.
