Under The Gun’s Head of Photography, Corbin Alvae, stopped over at The Crofoot to catch The Greatest Generation World Tour on March 9 in Pontiac, MI.
Well hello, world! Back at it again with yet another new set of photos from a sold out tour that was jam-packed with a lot of talent, and once again it was at my hometown venue of The Crofoot. I was pretty excited to hear about this tour making its stop here, so I knew that I absolutely needed to cover it and capture some memorable moments.
The tour kicked off with Maryland rock band, Modern Baseball. The band packed a punch as a perfect opener to kick this tour off and definitely got some new fans, as literally everyone rushed in to get that perfect spot in the venue.
Next up we had Illinois pop-punk group, Real Friends. These fellas have always impressed me with their performance ever since I first saw them when a friend of mine booked them at a smaller venue around 2 years ago. Great group of guys and always super fun to watch, as almost every single person in the crowd knew the lyrics and sang along.
After Real Friends, a hometown group called Citizen took the stage. I’ve never seen this band live before, only really jammed them a few times, but their performance just kills it. Lots of energy and super funky. Definitely a band to see.
After them, we had yet another hometown band take the stage called Fireworks. These guys have always been a solid group and have never disappointed between their live shows and their records. They put on one of the most solid hometown performances this year.
Finally, we have The Wonder Years take the stage. Soon as the venue lights blacked out, the crowd levels went from a 5 to my ears feeling like they were going to explode. This crowd was hyped and ready to show TWY how the mitten gets down. Soupy and the rest of the band joined on stage and as soon as their track kicked in, nothing but straight energy, bodies crowd surfing everywhere and fans singing along until their lungs gave out. The Wonder Years is a band that will never disappoint and make music gurus fall in love with them instantly.
Overall, this was yet again another solid and well put together tour and I’m glad it made a stop in Michigan for pop-punk fans to enjoy, hangout and make a night filled with memories.
Below are the photos I was able to capture. Enjoy!
