Since its announcement, there’s been a lot of skepticism surrounding Kerrang! Does Green Day’s American Idiot. So far, the singles we’ve heard have been pretty hit or miss, leaving many fans to wonder if the storied concept album would maintain its accessibility given this new format.
Over the weekend, we got our answer in the form a full album stream; check it out at the bottom of this post.
American Idiot was released through Reprise Records back in 2004 and received global praise, charting in over 25 countries. Since then, it has sold over 15 million copies worldwide, making it the trio’s second-best selling album behind 1994’s Dookie.
While some of these covers are pretty outlandish (I’m looking at you, Falling In Reverse), this album is still a fun listen. Though it may not be your favorite release of 2014, it is absolutely worth a few spins. Let us know if you dig it in the replies.
