Jim Carroll has passed away at the age of 60. The legendary punk rock and poet leaves behind an impressive catalog of work including “the Basketball Diaries,” and his 1980 album Catholic Boy. Carrol has been compared to H.S.T., William S. Burroughs, and Jack Kerouac as a writer, and may claim Catholic Boy to be the last great punk record. His contributions to the worlds of music and poetry will as surely not be forgotten, as he will surely be missed.
