Crank Director Attached To Twisted Metal Movie

Cars, guns, psychopaths, and a wish granting ominous figure. No, this isn’t a preview of the gritty reboot of Aladdin, it is all the ingredients to the great Playstation game Twisted Metal. After many years fans of the game series are finally going to get what they have been hoping for: a Twisted Metal movie.

Normally video game movies are a terrible idea. They turn out awful like Doom, Street Fighter, or anything that Uwe Boll has ever directed. Twisted Metal has a huge advantage though. Sony has signed Brian Taylor to direct. Why is this so awesome? Taylor is responsible for Crank 1 and 2, Gamer, and the upcoming Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance. His crazy touch is just what the Twisted Metal movie needs to break free of the normal video game movie wasteland that has plagued Hollywood for years.

For those who are unfamiliar with the game series it is essentially the worlds most crazy demolition derby ever invented. Put together by the enigmatic Calypso, the Twisted Metal tournament pits a unique cast of murders, psychopaths, and plenty of other dark figures that feel like they came right out of a horror film against each other in a vehicular battle to the death with the ultimate prize: one wish for whatever they want. After they win, the competitor is granted their wish, but with a twist that is right out of the Twilight Zone of your nightmares.

Whether you are a fan of the games or not this movie is shaping up to be a fun action packed flick with plenty of high octane destruction and gore. Sound off in the comment section below and let us know what you think of the Twisted Metal movie that is in the works.
