Katherine Heigl is known for two things in Hollywood: Being entirely too demanding on set and delivering lackluster performances in sappy romantic comedies. With her latest film, those qualities may be exactly what she needs to deliver a hit.
Home Sweet Hell tells the story of a woman named Mona. She’s nothing too serious at first glance, but after discovering her husband has been cheating on her with a younger (and far more attractive) woman, she is left with only one choice: Kill the girl that ruined her life. What follows is a classic tale of murder gone awry, with Patrick Wilson appearing as the husband who quickly learns to fear his other half. We’ll talk about the film more in a moment, but you should watch the trailer first:

Katherine Heigl was born for this role. After a decade of schmaltz she is finally shaking off the rom-com world and taking the turn for the devious she has long needed to make. I actually want to see this movie because she is so heavily involved, which is something I never thought I would be able to say about anything, and the fact she has such a strong supporting cast by her side gives me even more hope that the trailer only teases all the funny this film has to share.
Home Sweet Hell does not have a release date, but unless it arrives within the next few weeks I think an early 2015 debut is likely. Follow UTG on Twitter for updates.
