A ballad from Katy Perry’s upcoming reissue of Teenage Dream has made its way online and, believe it or not, it’s pretty okay.

“Wide Awake” is making its way across the blogosphere as the most popular leak no one will refer to as a leak (hint: “first listen” generally means the same thing) today following talk the song may be about Perry’s recent divorce from actor Russell Brand. You can decide for yourself, after the jump.

The lyrics for this one are obvious and the connections people will draw to her divorce are as well, but the song could just as easily be written by one of Perry’s many collaborators. Either way, “Wide Awake” is a near-pleasant turn of events that, while still not convincing us to purchase the Complete Confection, is still miles ahead of “Part Of Me.”
