J Mascis, the singer, songwriter, and guitarist behind Dinosaur Jr, had his guitar stolen after a recent show. The guitar was stolen at the October 11 show in Oregon. The guitar is a white Squire Jazzmaster; ironically, this is a pretty cheap guitar – you can buy one new for $400. But hey, I guess he really loves HIS exact instrument.
J posted on their Facebook, saying “Some characteristics that make this guitar unique: re is a dent in the neck, the pickups have no screws as they usually do and the action is currently set high. The guitar was in a soft gig bag. Please contact band@dinosaurjr.com or call 303-998-0001 if you have any information about this guitar.”
As recently as this year he was ranked fifth in Spin’s greatest guitarists of all time (but you should totally ignore that list because Spin has no idea what they’re talking about.) If you were the thief who stole the guitar, or are just a person from Oregon who knows something you shouldn’t know, you should call them. At the very least, everyone should consider sharing this Facebook post.

But, now that we've cleared that up and you called your high school janitor, know that I quit being a janitor to pursue writing about music. So here I am, and here you are, and hey how are you?
