Pop singing-songwriting twin sister duo Tegan and Sara have been killing it lately with their covers of deepish cut classic rock songs. Did you hear the pair’s version of The Rolling Stones’ “Fool To Cry” that they did for the soundtrack to the second season of Girls? Tis lovely.
Their proclivity for mining the sonic gems of the past hasn’t stopped with the works of Jagger and company. During a recent tour stop at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, the Quin sisters covered Prince’s “When You Were Mine”. Off his 1990 album Dirty Mind, the lovelorn anthem is done justice by the duo. Not surprising, since lovelorn anthems are kinda their deal.
Check out Tegan and Sara’s rendition of “When You Were Mine” after the jump.
