Friday nights can get crazy, but it looks like Seattle got the best one of them all. Paul McCartney’s ‘Out There’ tour came through the city Friday night and he invited none other than the remaining members of Nirvana —Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear— onstage to perform with him. Sorry, what? The crowd got to hear seven glorious collaborations, including “Get Back,” “Helter Skelter,” their Sound City collaboration “Cut Me Some Slack,” and a cover of Little Richard’s “Long Tall Sally.” Watch a fan’s recordings of the songs below the jump.
If it seems like Seattle is just lucking out these days with live music, you’re paying attention. Grunge rockers Mudhoney played a live show atop the Space Needle on July 11, and the Red Bull Sound Select series hits up Seattle as one of the cities to receive an awesome free concert. Basically it’s a great time to be living in Seattle (if not always).
