Stream HAIM’s Debut Album Now

California sister trio HAIM rocked the online blog world this year thanks to their sharp singles, intense live sets, and admiration from some big-name artists. With days to go until the release of their debut album, Days Are Gone, on September 30,  NPR has uploaded the album in full for streaming on their website right here.

Get two tracks in an you’ll be relieved to hear that the buzz was accurate; these girls know what they’re doing. Nudges of Fiona Apple or Pat Benatar definitely show up in HAIM’s music, but what wins me over is their new wave and grunge tones underneath some of the more stable framework their songs hang on. Despite the similarities, HAIM never sound like exactly like someone else, or a group that’s gone and sampled everyone. Their creativity is front and foremost here, and we’re glad about it (really, as if their covers of Sheryl Crow and Miley Cyrus weren’t already clues).

Go to NPR to hear all 44 minutes of harmonies, tribal drumming, and Danielle Haim’s shredding guitar parts — and don’t forget to let us know your opinion in the comment section below!
