We are trying our absolute best to avoid all news stories related to the holiday coming up in a little under three months, so for the sake of this story I’m going to do my best to not name it specifically. Halloween and Thanksgiving are both awesome holidays in need of more attention. Hold off, Claus. You’ll get your chance.

Anyway, Disney is jumping the gun on all things winter-related this afternoon by releasing the full trailer for their latest animated feature, Frozen. The film, which looks to have borrowed a lot of design ideas from Tangled, opens in 3D on November 27.

In Frozen, a fearless optimist named Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voiced by Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa (voiced by Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom. You can view the trailer below.

If anyone has the formula for a film like this down it’s Disney, and so far Frozen looks to be about as formulaic as it comes. You have the strong-yet-beautiful girl lead (aka modern princess), the dashing guy who will help save the day (not save her, mind you), adorable creatures for constant comedic relief, and a vengeful sibling with super powers. This is children’s filmmaking 101 and as long as you’re not looking for more you may find yourself quite excited for this film.
