Trophy Scars Sign With Label, Push Back ‘Holy Vacants’ Release Date

Experimental rock outfit Trophy Scars have provided fans with some good news and some bad news on this chilly fall night. So, which would you like to hear first?

The good news is the band have decided to sign with a yet-to-be-announced record label after eleven years as an independent band. As for the bad news, the decision to join a label’s roster has resulted in the need to push the release of their forthcoming full-length, Holy Vacants, from this year to early 2014. Fear not, though, for a new release date is on the way, and UTG will be sure to let you know what that date is as soon as it is announced.

Until then, the group also have plans to debut a music video for “Archangel” in November, so get excited for what is to come from Trophy Scars. In the meantime, you can view a lengthy statement from the band regarding all the new information after the jump.

Ok… here’s the skinny. We waited a bit to announce this because it was both hush hush and had to be done proper. Most of you who read this will at first glance be disappointed – but let it sink in and open your mind to the the long term positivity.

Most of you know we are in our 11th year here at Trophy Scars. Most of that time was spent without a label, broke, and doing everything on our own like most starting bands. Well, we are not a starting band anymore. We just completed the most important record of our careers and we feel as a whole it deserves to be heard around the world. We are currently in negotiations with a great label that will allow us to grow faster and stronger then we will or ever have on our own.

Your continued support has got us here, and now we need it more than ever. We are about to take a huge step – which means wider tours here in North America, Europe and hopefully beyond that. It also means a lot of ramp up to putting out our beloved “Holy Vacants” LP. The label of our fancy believes in this record as strongly as we do. There was no slouching on the making of it, we don’t want any slouching on it’s presentation.

With all that being said – please bear with us as “Holy Vacants” will not be released now until early 2014. It is important to remember that this is a huge step forward for us and for all those who have asked “Why isn’t this band getting the attention it deserves?” – we’re hoping that you won’t have to ask that again.

There will be a video to come in late November for the song “Archangel” and of course we will announce all official dealings and release dates as soon as all t’s are crossed and i’s are dotted. In other news: NEW MERCH SHIPS THIS WEEK! Yay.

Thanks for your constant patience and – it goes without saying – if it wasn’t for you, none of this would be possible,
Trophy Scars
