Alec Baldwin Admits ‘Rock Of Ages’ Is A “Horrible Movie”

Did you see Rock Of Ages? You know, the hair metal musical starring Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, and a slew of other recognizable faces that came and went from theaters in a one month span during the summer of 2012? I did. It was horrifying.

Speaking before a group of media professionals this week, Alec Baldwin became the first cast member from Rock Of Ages to admit their attempt at bringing the heyday of 80s rock back to life on the big screen was terrible, terrible idea. He called the film a “horrible movie,” as well as a “complete disaster,” before claiming he only decided to participate in its creation after learning that Tom Cruise and Russell Brand had signed on.

“A week in you go, ‘Oh God, what have I done?’” Baldwin said.

He said an actor can tell when a movie is a turkey.

“The plane is buffeting, the engine is on fire,” Baldwin said.

Baldwin is currently receiving a bit of critical acclaim for his role as a husband with mounting legal and financial trouble in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine. We did not run a review of the film, but as someone who paid to see it myself I cannot recommend enough that you make time to experience it as soon as you are able. Rock Of Ages, however, should be avoided at all costs. If you need a refresher on the film, you can view one of the worst (or should I say ‘most memorable’) sequences below.
