Like most of the superhero movies that have premiered in the past several years, Thor: The Dark World left a major dent in the total amount of ticket sales. Considering that there has been over 85 million dollars made in its debut weekend alone, we’re pretty sure that Chris Hemsworth and company will be earning a pretty penny. This makes for an increase of around 20 million in weekend debuts for the franchise, whose original film (Thor) made 65 million on its premiere weekend in 2011. Last week’s top film, Ender’s Game, experienced a major fall in sales since its 28+ million dollar opening weekend, with only 10 million to show for itself this time around.
