Drake Plans To Release 5 New Songs Before 2014

“Not an EP, but maybe a blog thing like how I did ‘Versace,’ ‘The Motion,’ all those in one night. I’ll probably do ‘Trophies’ and three or four other records.”

Drake has always been one to give his fans a steady stream of new music, regardless of whether or not he’s working on another album. Earlier this year, he made headlines worldwide when he debuted a series of singles in one night during the promotional run for Nothing Was The Same. Now he’s planning a similar release of material for the coming weeks, and we have the first details on what fans can expect.

Drake has not exactly kept his continued work on new music a secret since the release of Nothing Was The Same. There was a lot of fuss about the possibility of a “Wu-Tang Forever” remix featuring Wu-Tang members, as well as the live premiere of “Trophies” on the Would You Like A… tour back in October. Both of those songs are now due for official release according to Drake, and for the time being he’s keeping the details about the other tracks close to the chest.

I don’t want to spread rumors, but if I had to guess about what fans can expect from the other material I would say there is a chance for a taste of Drake’s long-gestating work with unused Aaliyah material. That’s just a guess, though. For now, rewatch the debut of “Trophies” below.

Drake’s latest album, Nothing Was The Same, is available now wherever music is sold.
