A digital single for Chevelle‘s new single “Take Out the Gunman” will become available tomorrow, but a stream of the track has already surfaced online. The track comes from the band’s upcoming album La Gárgola, which is due out on April 1.
For nearly 15 years, Chevelle have been a bright spot in the stagnant mainstream rock scene, staying true to their influences (Helmet, Deftones, Tool) and standing out amongst a crowd of post-grunge bands sounding completely derivative of one another. “Take Out The Gunman” is a riff monster in line with classic Chevelle, though I don’t think I’ve heard this much anger in Pete Loeffler’s voice since the band’s 2003 breakthrough, Wonder What’s Next. Hear it for yourself after the jump.
