Under The Gun is happy to introduce you to Sulene, who dropped her brand new and highly-anticipated EP, Holding Words Back, today. A four-track effort full of punk rock vigor and emotion, Sulene shows she is ready to make a name for herself in the alternative scene with the new release. Dynamic and gripping, Holding Words Back is a flaming and energetic burst of female-fronted rock worthy of comparison to Paramore. While every other independent artist is finding room on your shelf, Holding Words Back is the type of EP that gets put on constant repeat for weeks to come.

Born in South Africa, Sulene recently re-located to New York City after studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. She said she has a sense of pride toward the new EP:

“Out of the slums of self-doubt and turmoil came the most honest and soul baring plea to myself to let go, be a good girl, and trust fall. The following message is what this EP is here to deliver, it just took a bad boyfriend to help me put it into words. Holding Words Back is about speaking up for yourself, being true to who you are, and never settling for less than what you’re worth.”
