If British singer, songwriter, and all around badass Charli XCX moving her new album’s release date back to December 16 has you down (or even later for you UK folks), fear no more. The highly-anticipated sophomore album, Sucker, now has a new single for fans to play on repeat until the holidays: “London Queen.”
The single rides on a punk bass line and peppy rhythm, teasing relations to the Ramones with several shouts of “oy” while she sings about her move to LA from the UK. There’s a huge fist-pumping chorus and endless rebellious angst, but its roots are still grounded in pop. Honestly, after hearing this single along with the excellent “Break the Rules” and “Boom Clap,” there’s no reason to delay your album pre-order.
