A Place to Bury Strangers Unleash New Single “Straight,” Prepare to Shatter Eardrums on Spring U.S. and Euro Tours

Confession: Of all the shows I’ve attended, I’ve only worn earplugs twice. On both occasions, I was watching Brooklyn post-punk outfit A Place to Bury Strangers at The Empty Bottle in Chicago. As much as they’re known for their memorable live shows, these harbingers of noise and chaos have also released a series of great records dating back to a 2007 self-titled debut LP that quickly earned the band an opening slot on Nine Inch Nails’ U.S. tour.

Anyway, APTBS have just announced their fourth LP and follow-up to 2012’s Worship. The album is called Transfixiation. It hits record stores on Feb. 17 (pre-order it here), but you can stream the album’s first single “Straight” below. The group also announced a long run of U.S. and European tour dates. If your city isn’t listed below, don’t worry — the band promises additional U.S. and European tours later in 2015.
