Pete Wentz talks Millionaires

Pete Wentz has issued a blog about his connection to Millionaires:

From his blog:

dont waste your time reading this unless you are some label feeding frenzy peep or so engaged in “the scene” that you reply “first” to every topic you can.

from the horses mouth:

i dont really waste my time clearing up rumors on the internet. im no hero, always been more like bruce wayne than batman. my friends have been my heroes and have driven me to want to be a hero for them. it makes me cringe when i hear the “pete wentz is the only reason were famous” title. everytime i talk to gabe he says “you gave me a second chance when no one else would”. but the truth is gabe gave himself all the chances. when we were on the bus watching back to the future 3 (wishing it was back to the future 2) he has always been out in the rain talking to kids- even when it was fucking up his voice. he is a genuine guy and always someone who has his friends backs no matter what the odds are. anyone who says otherwise on the internet has never met him or gotten to know more than just a purple hoody.

decaydance began as a vanity label- a place where i could put out my friends and friends of friends records. than out of nowhere it blew up and came up on everyone’s radar. it is precious to me, as is the legacy of fueled by ramen- who believed in us when no one ever should have.

i have never thrown my two cents in about the whole “millionaires” debacle. because contrary to what may be seen or heard i have learned from becoming a father that all of this blatant nonsense on the internet and witty one liners wont be worth a polished turd in a box in twenty years… but now that labels have begun calling me i felt as though i should clear things up for the first time…

I wanted to clear up the rumors and theories and set the record straight about the Millionaires and Decaydance.

The Millionaires are friends with Gabe. I am friends with Gabe. Gabe brought them to Crush.  Gabe and I are both managed by Crush.

They are doing warped tour and Crush wanted their digital ep pressed. Decaydance is downstairs from Crush. We pressed 2,000 copies (future ebay collectors items if you get one with the Decaydance logo).  They are NOT signed to Decaydance.

I thought the girls explained it  pretty well in their Sup Justin interview  http://supjustin.com/page/3

How did you guys come about getting signed to Decaydance?
D: We’re actually just releasing our EP on Decaydance. We aren’t signed to them. They’re just close with our management, so it was kind of a given to release our EP with them. Our full length album will be released on another label.

So for all the labels who’ve hit me up about Millionaires,  I’m pretty sure they’re available to be signed and you don’t even have to cut me in.  For all the message board kids, you can return to hating me for something else.

ps this post will be evolving. keep clicking. im sure there will be something on here for you to tinyurl or get your panties in a bunch about.
