Punk Goes Pop 4 Tracklisting Revealed

Remember when Punk Goes Pop involved bands that, in the very least, tacked a hyphenated punk subgenre onto their name? I know, it’s getting hard for us too.

Today the official tracklist for Punk Goes Pop 4 made its’ way online and while there are a few sure-to-be gems listed, most didn’t raise an eyebrow.

Call us crazy, but adding breakdowns to shitty songs just makes for louder shitty songs. Do something unique with it and sure, we’ll give your cover a spin, but listening to dudes dressed like asexual teens while screeching about discovering hormones is something we at UTG have begun to grow out of.

That said, view the list after the jump. At least Pierce The Veil will be offering something of value.

Allstar Weekend – Yeah 3X (Chris Brown cover)
A Skylit Drive – Love The Way You Lie (Eminem + Rihanna cover)
Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! – We R Who We R (Ke$ha cover)
For All Those Sleeping – You Belong With Me (Taylor Swift cover)
Go Radio – Rolling in the deep (Adele cover)
I See Stars – Til The World Ends ( Britney Spears cover)
Pierce The Veil – Just The Way You Are (Bruno Mars cover)
Silverstein – Runaway (Kanye West cover)
Sleeping with Sirens – Fuck You (Cee Lo Green cover)
The Downtown Fiction – Super Bass (Nicki Minaj cover)
The Ready Set – Roll Up (Wiz Khalifa cover)
Tonight Alive – Little Lion Man (Mumford and Sons cover)
Woe, Is Me – Last Friday Night (Katy Perry cover)

    Hey Aaron!

Glad you read my review and that it (apparently) impacted you enough to spawn a comment. While I respect your opinion, I hate to break it to you that I am actually twenty-four. Also, singing is just as, if not more, strenuous on the vocal chords more times than not.
All that said, I do love post-hardcore, a lot. I just think the bands featured on this compilation take a subgenre that already faces more scrutiny than most and turn it into an even bigger, over-produced joke. If you don’t “get it,” that’s cool, but someday I think you will.
Keep reading and please, keep telling me I’m wrong.
