Earlier today we brought you news of Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes being attacked on stage last night in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sykes has finally opened up about the events and UTG has the scoop!
In a post made just a short while ago on Syke’s personal Tumblr, he wrote “Just to clear any rumours… Nothing happened last night apart from a bunch of soft lads stomped on a lil kids head 5 seconds into our set, so we stopped playing, had a bit of a banter with em telling em to do one, then some fatty gets on stage tries to hit me, in which he completely fails, misses and falls over, and then gets sparked out by someone In our touring party. The “crew” then responded by running around the venue, breaking a very young girls jaw and stamping on her, and injuring a few more of our young fans. Proper hard init. Not a member in Bmth or any of our touring party got so much as a scratch, oh one did want me to know he fucked my wife though, which hit me hard as you know I’ve been happily married for a long time now :).”

I don’t know about anyone else, but that doesn’t sound like an accurate description of what happened in the video I saw at all…
All the reports I read, and stories from my friends that went to the show. Do not support his story at all. The consensus is that a bottle was thrown at him and he became enraged. Too bad I had to work.
i was at the concert and i have my own video up of what happend “bmth vs straight edge gang” … his story is true it wasnt the bottle that pissed him off it was all the straight edge kids who were fighting throughout the entire show. olli simply told them that if they didnt like the band then not to go to the show … i have a feeling these straight edge kids knew why they were going to the show in the first place …. to cause chaos … these kids are second generation straight edgers from here in slc. there was shit talking from both parties but all of this didnt need to happen. kids were getting hurt MINORS … little girls. violence is never the answer to any question or belief. i just hope bmth doesnt hate slc now :/

i was there, he took a good 4 or 5 waterbottles thrown at him before he stopped, when he saw some kids fighting about it. i saw someone get dragged from the crowd unconscious, probably the guy that got “stomped on”, after that more stuff was thrown and oli threw some bottles back at the guy, then people jumped on stage and tried to hit him, they missed and a lot of people jumped up and started fighting, the crowd was a mess so its likely someone could have got a broken jaw, but a lot of people, including myself, were beaten a bit, bmth later came on and finnished the set. it doesn’t show everything on the video, but this is what i saw. That whole show was a mess before bmth even came on, Fist fights in the moshpits, some bitch threw a couple beers down onto the crowd, and then this shit.
all oli said was for the guys to go the fuck home, and that they were pussys for sitting in the crowd throwing stuff at him, which they were. you were probably one of the guys that started the shit.
It doesn’t matter who did what its fucking disrespectful If your not a fan leave or find something else to do
Your feeling is right. My friend told me the day before they were planning that. They were gunna rush the stage and jump him because he is a rapist. Thats what i was told.
i was there and someone did get there head stomped on. it wasn’t the girl that got her jaw broken. that was a different fight
