Yes, many of us bow at the feet of Conor Oberst in reverence of his various musical projects and his formative contributions to that Saddle Creek sound. Fortunately, it looks like Oberst isn’t above taking a few cues from one of the bands that he influenced.
Oberst recently resurrected his rocking and rollicking side-project Desaparecidos in order to put out a few incendiary singles and, subsequently, tour in support of said singles. Word of an East Coast tour back in November also brought the news that scrappy West Coast pop punks Joyce Manor would be providing support. A few nights ago, during a stop at Paradise Night Club in Boston, Oberst paid a little tribute to his opener, covering Joyce Manor’s “Constant Headache” along with the rest of the Desaparecidos.
Their take on the closer to 2011’s Joyce Manor stays true to the heart-rending sour grapes vibe of the original and doesn’t skimp on the energy.
Check out Desaparecidos’ take on “Constant Headache” after the jump.

That’s awesome, I love seeing a star admitting the small up-and-comers can be just as influential than an older group
