Norway has served as the birth place of many great musicians, but no two have ever been quite as odd as brothers Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåker, otherwise known as Ylvis. Their unique brand of comedy blends classic and modern styles of storytelling, as well as the occasional musical number, and today we’re proud to present a music video that is sure to leave you in tears (from laughing, of course).
Dubbed “The Fox,” the latest offering from Ylvis has quickly become a viral sensation due to its uncanny similarities to many current EDM-based radio hits. The duo appears at a party in the woods, surrounded by people dressed as animals, and recount for listeners the various noises animals make. Some are obvious, some feel a bit off, but nothing can prepare you for the way they describe the mysterious and rarely heard call of the fox. It’s a sound few have ever successfully duplicated, but Ylvis certainly do it justice as far as we’re concerned. You can view the video at the end of this post.
“The Fox” is obviously meant to make you laugh uncontrollably, but the music is surprisingly a dead-on doppleganger for trendy EDM. We don’t know what Ylvis plan to do next, but as soon as we have more information we’ll update you on their latest activities. Until then, comment below and let us know your thoughts on “The Fox.”

I guess my sense of human never woke up today.
Pretty much the best thing I’ve ever seen.
Easily the best thing you’ll see today, at least.
Sense of human eh? That sounds sad.
I seriously laughed my ass off. Brilliant ‘Weird Al’-style parody of the current “EDM” sound, right down to the syrupy-sweet breakdown. Gonna be huge.
The human part of me was still asleep, too. Or this video stole it from me.
btw this song is produced by Stargate
Hva fæn?
And stargate is by norwegian dudes too ;)
